I've been dithering about this for a while now, but I've now got to get some VoIP hardware for work, so I can't put it off any longer. Can anybody recommend any VoIP hardware they've had good experiences with, either for use with
Ekiga, or stand-alone? I hate shopping.
VOIP hardware
Matthew, I did not realise this section was here. You've probably made your purchase long since.
You can find a good selection, and a forum manned by the suppliers (who are very strong on support) at http://ozvoip.com/
You can get an ATA (analogue telephone adapter) or an IP telephone. I got the Grandstream 486 because it enables me to use the same cordless 'phone for outgoing VOIP calls and incoming calls through the conventional exchange.
There is a more expensive make which gives you the same thing with, from memory, more ports. There are also makes which provide several ports but don't have the capacity to handle exchange calls.
